What is Clear? If you search for it on Google, you get an internet plan, clear reading program, a survey site and finally, the Clear airport security site. This is the one we want to tell you about.

It seems these days that even if you’re flying business or first class, getting through security can take forever and worse it is just plain painful! Take off your shoes, open your bags, take out your computer, don’t wear metal, take off your jewelry. And that’s after you’ve stood in line for what seems like hours! Gone forever are the days when air travel had a mysterious allure to it! Now it’s just a hassle.

But finally, a company has come up with a way to at least get rid of the dreaded wait time in those lines. It guarantees you fast pass entrance regardless of whether you have a first class or a super economy seat. What is it? It’s a high tech card which is tied to your registration and identification using the awesome biometric verification (fingerprint and iris imaging). The company, Verified Identity Pass, Inc. is even working on shoe-scanning technology! This is the wave of the future and about time too!

Once you’re a member, you will breeze through security as you’ll have your own checkpoint. It’s available at many airports throughout the U.S. with more added all the time. As of this writing, here’s where they have their kiosks:

Albany

Atlanta

Boston Terminal A

Cincinnati

Denver

Indianapolis

Jacksonville

Little Rock

Louisville

Newark-Terminals B1, B2

New York- JFK Terminals 1, 2, 3, 4, 7

New York- LaGuardia – Central Terminal B, Terminal D

Oakland

Orlando

Reno-Tahoe

Salt Lake City

San Francisco

San Jose

Washington-Dulles

Washington-Reagan

London travel deals are everywhere to help defray the costs and one of the best items you can purchase is the London Pass. The cost of the pass ranges from £39.00 for a 1-day adult pass to £87.00 for a 6 day adult pass. That’s the equivalent of approximately $62.59 to $139.42. If you saw all the attractions, it would cost well over £420 (or $673) which means you’d save over $500.00 per person!!! Talk about a great London travel deal! In addition, you get some other great benefits:

20% discounts at selected restaurants

20% discounts on the famous Bateaux Lunch and Dinner cruises

Commission-free exchange at Bureau de Change

Free gifts at Crest of London, London Beatles Store & It’s Only Rock n’ Roll

10% discounts in other gift shops

Free entrance at select Cinemas

And that’s just a sample — click here for a full list of added bonuses which come with this London travel deal.. You can also purchase the London Travel Card at the same time as your London Pass at a significant discount. The Travel Card will grant you free access to buses, trams, trains and the Underground. The Travel Card costs at most £7.00/day when you have a London Pass which grands you unlimited travel on any of the services. Considering that the Underground is now £4.00 for a single trip, this can save you big time. The Tube is so well organized, clean and safe, you’ll find it a joy to ride. If you want to use your Travel Card from the airport in to central London, you will be able to use it from Heathrow. If you come in to Gatwick, you will have to pay a bit extra. However, it will be much cheaper than hiring a cab. The drawback to this, however, is you cannot use it on any of the Airport Express trains. You can even elect to have your Travel Card and your London Pass mailed to you in the States – or you can collect it when you arrive. For more information on the London Pass and the Travel Card, please click here to go to their website.

U.S. Passport – Your Identity and Your Freedom

I remember the first time I was invited to go on a trip “over seas”. I was about 21 and a friend asked me to go to London with her. I looked at her with amazement wondering if this possibly could be true. What was worse was what if it was! What did I have to do to get there? OMG I needed a passport! This was in the 70s and we didn’t have the luxury of the internet or even the U.S. Postal Service to help us with such things. After going to a professional photographer for my passport photos, getting my birth certificate out of my mother’s safe deposit box and then going to New York to fill in the application, I waited patiently for almost three months to finally receive my “ticket to heaven”. At long last, the day had arrived. It came in a brown envelope which was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen for inside was my United States Pass Port!

Those days are long since gone and in many ways, good. You can now get a U.S. Passport directly on the internet via an online application. If you’re really in a hurry, you can even get it with a 24 hour turn-around service! Frankly, I think everyone should have a passport. It’s your right as a citizen and almost a badge of honor. I remember while in Egypt not long ago, I was asked to surrender my passport to the hotel. I refused. When they asked what my problem was, I told them that my passport was more than my identity. Iit was my freedom, my heritage, and my way back to my home. I was not going to risk someone stealing it or copying it or any other thing. I would watch and wait if they had to verify it. So they agreed. Keep that in mind during these disturbing times. Don’t lose sight of your passport!

In order to get your U.S. passport – either new or as a renewal – it really is quite easy. You can go to the US Postal Service and apply. You can go to their web site and see if there is a passport app service near you. Usually, for an additional $15.00, they will facilitate your photos there as well as the application. Make sure you check with them before going over there as some of these service locations require an appointment. The charge for a traditional U.S. Passport book (new) is $100.00 and can take up to three months to get it. If you want a “rush” put on it, you can ask for the Department of State’s Expedited Passport Processing Service. This will cost an additional $60.00 and the turnaround times vary. At the time of this writing, the turnaround is 5 to 7 days. If you want it Express Mailed back to you, you’ll have to pay for that as well.

Alternatively, you can now use one of the fantastic online services. The RushMyPassport.com service will issue:

New Passports

Lost/Stolen Passports

Passport Pages

Passport Renewals

Child Passports

Name Changes

What’s even better is how easy and fast it is! They will tell you exactly what paperwork they need and how to supply it to them. If you need it super fast, you can get that service as well. Here is what they offer:

24 Hour Service – One Business Day – $299.00 plus Government Fee

Next Day Service – Two Business Days – $249.00 plus Government Fee

Priority Service – 3 to 4 Business Days – $199.00 plus Government Fee

Rush Service – 5 to 7 Business Days – $149.00 plus Government Fee

Standard Service – 8 to 12 Business Days – $99.00 plus Government Fee

However you decide to apply for your passport, be sure to treat it properly. Don’t leave it laying around where anyone can pick it up! Use it wisely and have a great time on your trip!
